Guiding Opinions of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on Promoting the Reduction of Construction Waste

One of the key aspects of the safety of steel structure mezzanine floors is "rooting." The "root" refers to the transfer of the load from the newly constructed steel structure mezzanine floor slab to the "roots" via the main beams, and from there to the existing structure. Just like a tree cannot stand without strong roots, in actual construction, the first step is to determine if the fixing points are load-bearing structures.

With the increasing use of steel structures in the construction field, the importance of detailed steel structure design has gradually become apparent. It is one of the main links in steel structure engineering, and the quality of this link directly affects the production cost, quality, and schedule of the steel structure.

In September 2020, at the general debate of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed that "China will increase its nationally determined contributions, adopt more vigorous policies and measures, strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions before 2030, and endeavor to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060."

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Shandong Province officially issued the "Notice on the Implementation Plan for Reducing Construction Waste in Shandong Province", which clarifies the specific amount of construction waste discharged in each region by the end of 2025: the amount of construction waste discharged at the construction site of new buildings shall not exceed 300 tons per square meter, and the amount of construction waste discharged at the construction site of prefabricated buildings shall not exceed 200 tons per 10,000 square meters.

Recently, six departments, including the Shandong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, organized the first batch of cultivation and inclusion programs for industry-education integration enterprises in Shandong Province, with 142 enterprises selected. Shandong Defeng Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., as an enterprise deeply involved in industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, was successfully selected, focusing on high-end equipment manufacturing. It prioritizes the training of professionals in high-end design, structural engineering, and operational skills.
